I WOULD LIKE TO DO A NEGATIVE ROLE VAIBHAV
Stepped into Tamil Cinema as ‘Ram Babu’ through Venkat Prabhu’s Saroja, actor Vaibhav has now grown up to heights in Tamil film Industry. He will soon be seen as the lead in the Tamil remake of Malayalam movie Adi Kapyare Koottamani. From Saroja, Goa, Mankatha, Kappal to his recent blockbuster Chennai 28 II, in which he played Marudhupandi, all his roles have had a comical touch.
“My association with director Venkat Prabhu has given me a strong identity in Tamil film industry. The roles- Ramarajan, Sumanth, Marudhupandi that I have played in his movies have been welcomed by the audience and my presence as a solo hero in Kappal has enhanced my reputation in the commercial ranks too.
However, if you thought the actor does a lot of homework to make his roles perfect, you may be wrong. “It is my duty to satisfy the director on the sets. But I do not believe in doing homework as I feel I wouldn’t be able to adapt to what the director wants on the sets. I get the dialogues on the sets, spontaneously rehearse and then just deliver it,” he says.
Vaibhav says that he is open to playing all kinds of roles and would love to do a role with negative shades.
